c)Membership Differences for Ford Customers

General Differences

In most cases, the State Auto Club Lifestyle Membership offered to Ford customers is the same as a full priced Member benefits program available for purchase directly from the relevant State Auto Club, or rewards benefits and savings available to customers as part of a full priced State Auto Club membership.

  • Towing: Where Ford members are eligible to be towed, Ford members will be towed to the nearest Ford Dealership or authorised Ford Service Centre. Should towing to one of these locations exceed the roadside assistance towing benefits of their nominated State Auto Club, then Ford will pay the difference, in accordance with the relevant Club’s general conditions, exclusions and limitations. If the Ford member requests to be towed to an alternative location, it may be at their expense.
  • Batteries: Ford batteries are covered under a 12 month warranty and will be replaced at no cost to the member if the battery fails while under this warranty period.

State Auto Club Lifestyle Membership covers the individual whereas Roadside Assistance covers the vehicle. Where a customer sells their vehicle, the State Auto Club Lifestyle Membership will remain with the selling customer until the active 12 month period expires, and Roadside Assistance will remain with the vehicle for the same period, or until the new owner services the vehicle at an authorised Ford Dealership, and a new 12 month term of Roadside Assistance and State Auto Club Lifestyle Membership commences.

Where an individual has an existing Auto Club Membership, the two will be linked ensuring continuity of the member’s "years of membership" benefits. State Auto Club Lifestyle Membership is in addition to any existing Auto Club Membership. If the existing Auto Club Membership is a Roadside Assistance product, then depending on the Auto Club or the Roadside Assistance product, for any remaining portion of any existing membership, at the time the new State Auto Club Lifestyle Membership is conferred, customers may be given two options:

  1. Continue as an existing Auto Club Member to ensure, where applicable, they are covered for Roadside Assistance in any vehicle they drive. This will require no action from the member as the membership will continue running until the expiration date, at which time a separate renewal notice will be issued. OR;
  2. Place their existing Auto Club Membership "on hold" whilst they have 12 months individual-based State Auto Club Lifestyle Membership, and vehicle-based Roadside Assistance for their Ford vehicle, after which on the member contacting their Auto Club, the existing membership will be re-established.

d)Roadside Assistance and State Auto Club Lifestyle Membership: Benefits Overview

Roadside Assistance benefits available to all Ford customers includes:

Should you require assistance following a breakdown, call via our toll-free hotline 13 3673 (13 FORD) for support at roadside 24 hours a day, 365 days per year - anywhere in Australia through your State/Territory Auto Club.
- Flat battery: Roadside Assistance will jump-start a flat battery or arrange a battery replacement. For 12 months from the first date of vehicle registration, if your battery fails, Roadside Assistance will replace it at no cost to you.
- Out of fuel: Roadside Assistance will assist you with the provision of petrol or diesel, where available, to enable you to travel to the nearest re-fuelling facility or, alternatively, arrange a tow. Fuel cost may be at the owner’s expense. Dedicated LPG vehicles will require towing to your nearest licensed LPG re-fuelling facility (within towing limits).
- Flat tyre: Roadside Assistance will change a flat tyre (where vehicle has a serviceable spare) or, if necessary, a tow will be arranged to the nearest Ford Dealer.
